Marianna and Robert drove all the way to Colorado from the midwest to take photos with me in the mountains. I am always humbled by the amount of time, effort, planning, and trust that goes into the elopement process. We talked over the phone several times before the elopement date, they trusted me to pick out an amazing location, and we put our trust in the mountains to give us a perfect sunrise (and they delivered a perfect one, of course). This was the beginning of June and there was still quite a lot of snow up at 11,000 feet. Marianna and Robert cuddled close to stay warm. The beauty of the sun slowly cresting over the mountains awed us enough to forget about how cold we were in the moment. Popular elopement spots can get crowded in the summer so going for sunrise usually limits the amount of people you might run into, plus it gives you the whole entire day to hang out afterwards! We didn’t run into a single person until about an hour after we started shooting, after driving back to the main part of the location we were in. The mountains were looking absolutely stunning this morning and I am so happy we were able to catch the sun coming up. Robert helped his wife (!!) attach her veil, they said their vows as the wind whipped our hair back and forth, with the mountains and I as their only witnesses. There is something so special about proclaiming your love for someone in a stunning place, the sun, mountains, wind and snow beneath you bearing witness. Taking it back to just the two of you, as it started and will forever be.
