Want to know a secret? I actually love portraits more than any other type of photography. This works out well for me as portrait photography is also a part of elopements and weddings which I also love dearly. Elopements are right up there with portraits!! But…there is something so special about working with all of my senior girls, right before their lives truly change and, arguably, start. The lives that they get to choose. Going to the school they want, away from home for usually the first time ever, meeting new people and having new experiences, and truly figuring themselves out. That in-between, the moment of still being in high school but so excited to start the rest of their lives… I get them there. I get to meet that version of them, as fleeting as it sometimes is, and I get to make them feel beautiful. I show them what they look like as they laugh and frolic in a field. They get to buy new clothes and do their hair and feel pretty and have fun!!! It’s girlhood. Who doesn’t love to feel beautiful? I love being able to gift them even a shred of confidence that (hopefully) follows them through their next journey. I love creating photos in tandem that feel feel warm, happy, full of life, and ready for the next great life adventure. Just like them <3
